Pulse Therapy and Learning Center entered into an agreement to offer free mental health awareness programs for adults and children on 10 April 2018.

The aim of the MoU is to enable the community to recognize and treat mental health issues as they can be equally as debilitating as physical health issues.

Dr. Nighat Aftab - President of Medical Wing at Pakistan Association Dubai said, "We often treat people for medical and physical conditions, however, underlying depression and other mental health issues are often overlooked in the overall treatment and wellbeing of a person."

She added, "Our initiative as doctors and medical professionals is to enable individuals recognize and seek treatment before it can negatively impact them and their families".

The initiative is being held in honor of the Year of Zayed, to commemorate the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed, and contribute to human development, giving and humanitarianism, environment and sustainability, and culture and knowledge.

"We wanted to reach out to people and empower them with knowledge on mental health so that they can look out for their loved ones", said Shabbir Pirmohamed, Managing Director at Pulse Therapy and Learning Center. He added that continued efforts from community organizations and private centers can help individuals with the right information at the right time and enable them to seek help when required.
