This session will offer a clear overview of language development and demonstrate how ABA effectively addresses communication challenges. We will cover the basics of language growth and its role in social and academic success. The training will also explore how ABA techniques remove barriers to communication.

Participants will learn about the significance of improving communication for individuals with delays and how ABA uses scientific methods to build essential language skills. Key topics include Verbal Behavior, focusing on Skinner’s approach, and Natural Environment Teaching (NET), which incorporates language into everyday activities. We’ll also address common barriers to language development, such as motivation and attention, and teach data collection methods to track progress. Case studies and a discussion will help apply these strategies in real-world situations.
